Step into the Adventure of Freediving
Freediving is about inward power, discipline and control. If you’ve always wanted to enter the underwater world quietly, on your own terms, staying as long as your breath allows, then freediving is for you. Taking the PADI Freediver course is your first step toward discovering why freediving is becoming a popular way to explore beneath the waves.
The PADI Freediver course consists of three main phases:
- Knowledge development about freediving principles through independent study with PADI Freediver eLearning
- Confined water session to learn breath-hold techniques as well as static and dynamic apnea. Goal – static apnea of 90 seconds and dynamic apnea of 25 metres/80 feet
- Open water sessions to practice free immersion and constant weight freedives, plus proper buddy procedures. Goal – constant weight freedive of 10 – 16 metres/30 – 55* feet
* Maximum depth for freediver younger than 18 years old is 15 meters/50 feet.
Squalo Divers offers complete course flexibility. Our course allows you to set your own schedule and generally takes two days, but we do not need additional participants to run this class. We will conduct your pool session in the store during regular store hours. After you complete the pool session, we will do the open water training dives (which will take one additional half day). These sessions — pool and open water dives — do not need to run consecutively. Pool sessions and open water dives can occur any day of the week during store hours.
